Gather round and meet ….Ali in Wonderland

August 12, 2009

The Blog: Ali in Wonderland

Blogger’s Name: Ali

Location: Canada

Why We Like Her: Ali’s blog is the place we head to if we want a good literary fix! The girl loves books and has GREAT taste, including my personal favourite The Time Traveler’s Wife ….and the Harry Potter series, of course!!!! Combine this with her simple, yet soul-satisfying choice of images, and you’re onto a winner!

Hmmmm, sounds interesting ….I want to hear more: Well if you wanted to hear more from Ali herself, I don’t doubt that she’d love to give you some of her time (cos she’s just that kind of gal!), but sure I’ll tell you a bit more in the meantime! Part of the reason we’re fascinated with Ali is her beautiful relationship with her grandpa, whom she mentioned a good few times during her interview in such a sweet way: My grandpa, he lives at the other end of Canada, and I haven’t seen him in over a year and a bit. He is the most intelligent man I know, and I am so enthralled with his life stories. He is my hero, my inspiration and my number one supporter. Another thing we adore about her is her natural, unassuming honesty. She’s so sweet and open, which leads to funny anecdotes like the fact she loves crazy-dancing to the Spice Girls’ Wannabe…

The Lightning Round

….the place where we ask THE hard-hitting, important Life questions that you all need and want to know:

If you could have one superpower, which would you choose? Time travel.

If you could have tea and cake with any three people (living or dead) who would you pick? (Please keep in mind I would like to have tea and cake with this people now, in a couple days my answer may be different.)

Audrey Hepburn (to me she is the epitome of perfect), Audrey Niffenegger (the author of The Time Traveler’s Wife, which is one of my ultimate favourite novels) and my grandpa.

Your favourite movie quote is? Joe: Don’t cry, Shopgirl. Don’t cry. Kathleen Kelly: I wanted it to be you. I wanted it to be you so badly.

From You’ve Got Mail

How do you take your tea? Two milks and some honey, please.

P.S. My mum has called me Bear ever since I can remember and I am now 22 and I love the fact that I am one of the few who’s parents still call their grown-up child by their nickname. But the point is, I think it is a great nickname because I love, and I mean I love honey!!!

Check out Ali’s guest post below!

She’s decided to do a personal account on a Childhood Story that still influences her in today’s world…
